Overview

Unlike invoices, Payment Links:
  • Don’t require a client record
  • Can be reused multiple times

Payment Flow

When a customer uses a payment link:
  1. Open Link — Customer clicks link or scans QR
  2. View Details — Customer sees amount, description, and your organization info
  3. Enter Amount — For open amount links, customer enters the amount
  4. Pay — Customer clicks Pay, Bousol Wallet opens
  5. Confirm — Customer confirms in the wallet app
  6. Complete — Payment settles (3-5 seconds)

Point of Sale (POS) Usage

Payment Links are ideal for in-store payments:

Setup

  1. Create a Reusable Payment Link with Open Amount
  2. Print the QR code and display at your register
  3. Name it descriptively (e.g., “Main Register”, “Store Front”)

Transaction Flow

  1. Tell customer the amount
  2. Customer scans QR code
  3. Customer enters amount in the app
  4. Customer confirms payment
  5. You see confirmation in the dashboard

Multiple Registers

Create separate Payment Links for each register or location to track sales by source.

Best Practices

Naming Convention

Use clear, descriptive names:
  • Good: “Store Front Register”, “Event Ticket - VIP”, “Monthly Donation”
  • Avoid: “Link 1”, “Test”

Expiration

  • Set expiration dates for time-sensitive links (event tickets, limited offers)
  • Leave expiration blank for permanent collection points

Tracking

  • Create separate links for different campaigns or sources
  • Review payment history per link to track performance

Security

  • Don’t share links publicly unless intended for public use
  • Disable links that are no longer needed
  • Regenerate links if you suspect unauthorized access

QR Code Tips

Printing

  • Print QR codes at least 2cm x 2cm for reliable scanning
  • Use high contrast (dark code on light background)
  • Include a brief instruction: “Scan to pay with Bousol”

Display

  • Position at eye level for easy scanning
  • Ensure adequate lighting
  • Avoid placing behind glass (causes glare)
