Payouts are outgoing payments from your organization to recipients. Use payouts for refunds, vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and any scenario where you need to send funds.

Overview

A payout sends funds from your organization’s vault to a recipient’s Stellar wallet. Key characteristics:
  • One-to-one — Single recipient per payout
  • Instant settlement — Funds arrive in 3-5 seconds
  • Approval workflow — Optional multi-level approval for security
For sending to multiple recipients at once, see Disbursements.

Security

  • Use approval workflows — Require approval for payouts above a threshold
  • Separate duties — Different people create and approve payouts
  • Review regularly — Monitor payout activity in Reports

Record Keeping

  • Use memos — Include reference numbers or descriptions
  • Link to clients — Send payouts to clients for better tracking
  • Export history — Download payout records for accounting
